A note as peomised about The Ballad of Charlotte Dymon. The song was originally sung on a radio show we recorded, mid 70's by Martin Carter & Graham Jones, who I've tried to find out more about but have drawn a blank, apart from Dartford Folk Club who are also looking for information. It seems they set the poem by Charles Causely to music (a base and a Guitar) as a traditional sounding folk song. The murder trial was at Bodmin in Victorian times. It has love, murder, and a possible misscarriage of justice, perfect for a folk song! Looking for "The Ballad of Charlotte Dymon" on the net will bring up alot of references including the poem in pdf format (the URL below takes you to one). I have an mp3 of the tune but it is 6 Megabytes so if you have broad band I could probably send it. Great show at the Bullers in Looe, back in Cheshire now!!

Tom Palmer, hello... my heart was in my mouth at Jolly Sailor, Looe last bank holiday mon & still trying to catch my breath! thought John Martyn's Fine Lines was a fairly good request for your amazingly low rumbling tones. you broke my heart with Valentines day & but couldn't wipe the tears away fast enough with Nick Cave's Ship Song, unbelievably beautiful! - may have to take back everything I ever said about northern men! (but as a Donny lass... ) so are you shut away in the west country? or do you make it over to the south east (grim prospect i know but some of us are quite civilised!) - surely you have haunts over here? I could take having my heart broken by your beautiful voice on a regular basis! warm regards Andrea

Hi Tom Well, I came back to ol' England for a few weeks but sadly didn't get the chance to see you play. Maybe next year? Maybe the one after, who knows? I would've liked to buy another one of your CDs. You'll just have to do another tour Down Under! Interesting to see you played a gig with Steve W. recently. How did it go? Sometimes wonder what happened to him. Anyway, take care mate. All the best from the sunny Gold Coast. Col
